TEDC's 2019 Legislative Conference will be held in downtown Austin, Texas, at the Sheraton Hotel near the Texas Capitol. The event will bring together economic development professionals and those interested in economic development from across the state to hear from industry leaders on important economic development topics, to share knowledge and network with peers.

The two and one-half day event will feature numerous general and breakout sessions and peer-to-peer discussions on economic development topics and trends. There will also be several networking opportunities and time set aside for attendees to visit with their state representatives. Texas legislative representatives will be invited to attend the reception Wednesday evening.

During the breakfast on Thursday morning, the TEDC will recognize the recipients of the 2018 Economic Excellence Recognition Program.

Workshop: What Every Economic Developer Should Know About Small Business Financing

This workshop will be held at the Sheraton Hotel on the first day of the Legislative Conference, February 20, 2019, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Separate registration of $200.00 per person is required for this workshop. Lunch is provided for workshop attendees.
 
The workshop will be led by the ever-popular Vin DiCara, who has led a number of workshops for the TEDC over the past several years. 
 
This progam is designed to assist economic developers who need to know more about small business financing. Participants will learn to ask the right questions of business borrowers and to recommend the correct lending products for their clients' needs. Emphasis will also be placed on the process that small businesses undertake on a regular basis when they make financial decisions.
 
This workshop is a must for folks interested in supporting small business development and entrepreneurship in their communities and regions.

Registration and Payment Policy:  All registrations are to be made online. Registrations will not be accepted by mail, email, telephone or fax. Payments in advance are encouraged, unless specified to be paid prior to the event. Invoices are required to be paid within 30 days following the event. Payments may be made in the form of check or online via credit card. Purchase orders will not be accepted as a form of payment.

Cancellation, Refund and No-Show Policy:  All cancellations must be received in writing via email to TEDC staff. Cancellations received in writing on or before (10 business days), and which payment has been received, will be refunded via check following the event. All refunds will be charged a $35.00 administration cancellation fee. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after (10 business days). A registrant who does not submit a written cancellation or attend the event, is considered a No-Show and is not eligible for a refund. A registrant who does not submit a written notice of cancellation or attend the event is still responsible for the registration fee.
