Rosenberg, Paragon to Partner on Outlet Shopping Destination Development

ROSENBERG, TEXAS (September 17, 2014):  The City of Rosenberg and the Rosenberg Development Corporation (RDC) have each authorized the execution of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Paragon Outlet Partners regarding the development of the Paragon Outlets Houston project to be located in Rosenberg along Interstate 69 and Spacek Road. Under the MOU, Paragon Outlet Partners, a commercial real estate development firm headquartered in Baltimore, will develop Paragon Outlets Houston –  a ground up outlet shopping development in Rosenberg with an approximately 400,000-square-foot eventual build out that will serve as a shopping destination for the greater Houston region.  The MOU outlines the terms of incentive agreements to be formulated between the parties, and final agreements will have to come back to each party for action. The retail development project is projected to generate approximately $75 million in property value, 1000-1500 jobs, and $160 million in taxable sales a year.   “The selection of Rosenberg as the location of Paragon Outlets’ next outlet shopping development emphasizes the tremendous residential growth we are experiencing, as well as the viability of the Rosenberg market area for retail development,” said Rosenberg Economic Development Director Randall Malik.  “The Paragon Outlets Houston development will be the only Outlet Mall in the Southwest Houston Region, and as such, will be a regional draw, infusing outside dollars into our local economy, and increasing our community’s exposure in the region.”    Rosenberg Mayor Vincent M.
