The Little Elm EDC has once again landed in the Dallas Business Journal Book of Lists

January 10, 2020

Organization

Little Elm Economic Development Corporation

Coming in at No. 13, the LE EDC earned their spot on this prestigious list once again, with $75.83 million from 12 deals in 2019.

This is the sixth consecutive year the EDC has been listed and was also ranked No. 13 in 2018, with totaling $63.15M.

"We are thrilled to make the Book of Lists once again," said EDC Director Jennette Espinosa.

Espinosa, who has been with the EDC for over eight years, has attracted a range of unique concepts to Little Elm, including Hydrous Cable Wakeboarding Park and the only Hula Hut outside of Austin, Texas. The popular Polynesian-Mexican fusion restaurant brings in patrons from all over the Metroplex.

"Many people come to dine at Hula Hut or visit another restaurant and then discover everything Little Elm has to offer," Espinosa said.

And it offers a lot.

Little Elm is home to the largest swim beach in North Texas, tournament-quality sand volleyball courts, a cable wakeboarding park, a lakeside amphitheater with frequent live music events in a cooler friendly atmosphere, a new boat ramp, outstanding parks, and many restaurant venues with patios and outside entertainment.

Little Elm also has a town-wide trail system that allows residents and visitors travel by foot or bike to other areas of Town, including the Lakefront District, Little Elm's destination district featuring mixed-use development of retail, restaurants, recreation amenities, a future entertainment venue and hotel, and both single-family and multi-family upscale urban living options.

Soon, a 42,000-square-foot aquatic park with also join the mix.

"This aquatic park will be a significant draw for residents and visitors throughout the region," Espinosa said.

It will feature a double FlowRider® indoor wave surfing machine, slides, an activity pool, two lap lanes, a large play structure, splash pad, and fun for the entire family - all year long.

"Adding a venue that can be used throughout all seasons was of great significance and will bring people here every month of the year," Espinosa said.

The deals included in this year's total include:

Annie's Kitchen

Qwench Juice Bar/Drnk Coffee Bar

Sebastian's Latin Cuisine

Hat Creek Burger

India Bazaar/Rujula's Restaurant

Bruster's Cream

Savory Kitchen

American Shaman

BurgerIM

Little Greek

One Main Financial

Godfather's Pizza

The list ranks Economic Development Agencies in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise Counties. Participants are then assessed for total value, and the number of deals is produced in that year.

The Little Elm EDC is charged with attracting new commercial businesses, new tourism opportunities, and new jobs to Little Elm while capitalizing on the Town's lakeside character and sense of community. Learn more about the EDC and doing business in Little Elm by visiting https://littleelmedc.com.
