Little Elm EDC
DFW's newest waterpark is now open in Little Elm, Texas. The Cove at the Lakefront™ indoor water park features 42,000-square-feet of fun for the entire family and can be used year-round.
Despite the unprecedented last year, the project moved forward as planned and opened its doors in February, in the heart of The Lakefront District, the Town's destination district of retail, restaurants, and recreation amenities.
Year-round usability was an essential factor for the Town when planning the facility.
"The Cove™ is not your average water park, one reason being that you will be able to enjoy a good splash in the middle of winter, or even during a Texas summer downpour if you wanted," said Elissa Malone, Aquatics Manager.
This facility features the only FlowerRider® Double within a 30-mile radius. This popular wave-surfing machine will be one of the first attractions to greet visitors when they enter the facility. Above it is a giant video wall showing sporting events, TV, and other content.
Equipped with two fake-out water slides, a lazy river, a large play structure, and a spray ground, this brand new facility is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
The Cove™ will also be the ideal place for entertaining with party rooms, a large mezzanine terrace, and cabanas available to rent; visitors can host everything from birthday and team parties to corporate events.
The facility also boasts a concessions stand, The Snack Shack. Savory Kitchen, one of Little Elm's most favorite restaurants, will be managing this feature and is sure to serve up some of their best dishes.
"The Cove™ is a great addition to Little Elm, and we believe it will draw people from all over the region to the Lakefront District. People will be able to visit and enjoy The Cove™, dine at one of our great local restaurants, and experience our other fantastic amenities," said Economic Development Corporation Director Jennette Espinosa.
The location of The Cove™ was strategic—right in the heart of the growing and thriving Lakefront District. This destination district has quickly become the main draw to Little Elm.
In addition to The Cove™, the Lakefront also features the largest public beach in North Texas, the Little Elm Beach, exceptional parks and beautiful trails, and several unique dining options.
Little Elm also recently broke ground on an 84-room La Quinta del Sol by Wyndham and a two-story entertainment venue, Tinman Social, which will feature boutique bowling and ax-throwing bocce ball, and a bar.
"The goal is to draw visitors from all over the Metroplex to stay and play and enjoy all Little Elm has to offer while increasing traffic to local businesses," Espinosa said.
