Yoakum Economic Development Corporation
The Board of Directors of the Yoakum Economic Development Corporation (YEDC) recognized outgoing board member Arthur G. Hermann, III at its August 16th meeting for almost twenty years of service to the organization.
Hermann was originally appointed to the YEDC Board in April 2002 and served as Secretary from 2012 to 2021. During Hermann’s tenure, the EDC developed numerous business incentives and programs and completed its 2016 strategic plan and goals. Among these is the recently announced development of a second industrial development park, a 60-acre site located at the intersection of US Highway 77-A and Farm-to-Market 3475 (Carl Ramert Drive).
Hermann is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Crossroads Bank, the former First State Bank, headquartered in Yoakum and founded in 1931. Crossroads Bank has branches in Victoria and Moulton. He is a 48-year veteran of the banking industry, and he is the grandson of the bank’s founder.
“It has been an absolute honor to serve alongside Arthur” said Board President Gery Maneth, who became a director in 2014. Maneth noted that “over the years, Arthur has brought his extensive banking experience to bear to the benefit of YEDC”. ________________________________________
