Brownsville, Texas (November 3, 2021) – MVP Plastics, Inc., a plastic injection molding company, will expand its operations by leasing a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility located off Anei Circle. MVP proposes to invest over $3,000,000 in equipment and upgrades and employ a minimum of 50 employees.

“MVP Plastics originally expanded to Brownsville in 2015, but after five very successful years, the company outgrew its footprint. Unfortunately, there was no available space that could accommodate their growth so they had to relocate in 2020,” said Helen Ramirez, CEO/ Executive Director of GBIC. “Fortunately, the industrial development community has taken notice and has started to construct speculative buildings like the one MVP will be leasing.”

“Our team is extremely excited with returning to Brownsville! As we outgrew our current facility, we looked at many different locations in the RGV and at the end of the day it was the support and encouragement from the team at the Greater Brownsville Incentive Corporation (GBIC) that made our decision easy,” said Darrell McNair, Owner of MVP Plastics. “I sincerely appreciate the assistance of Helen Ramirez and Ramiro Aleman with GBIC, and Maribel Baca with Select Staff, truly a fantastic team! MVP looks forward to many years of economic growth in the region!", ” concluded McNair.

The relocation to Brownsville will allow MVP Plastics to better serve their customers in Matamoros and other parts of Mexico.

“We are encouraged to see a speculative building leased so quickly - especially by a company that will create manufacturing jobs in our community,” said John Cowen, Jr., Chairman of the GBIC Board of Directors. “During these economic times, most companies do not have the luxury of waiting for a facility to be constructed, and consequently, by having a quality building that is available, it makes the decision to select Brownsville more viable.”

“There is a market for industrial space in Brownsville,” continued Ramirez. “It’s refreshing to see that our message is getting out and that the developers are taking notice. Not only was this space leased quickly, but we are talking to other developers about constructing new industrial space.”
