Lubbock Economic Development Alliance
(LUBBOCK) - The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) is pleased to announce the new Director of Business Recruitment, David Rushing. With more than 20 years of experience in community development, serving as the City Manager of Shamrock, TX to the Executive Director for the Levelland Economic Development Corporation, his experience and expertise in the industry prepared him to assume this role.
Rushing will work alongside Carolyn Rowley, director of business retention and innovation, and Chris Rankin, project manager for business recruitment, to continue LEDA’s efforts to bring new businesses to the “Hub City” and provide more opportunities for the growth of our community.
Outside of his professional career, Rushing served as a Rotarian for nearly 25 years and was an EMT volunteer for 13 years. He also served on a local hospital board for 19 years. In his free time, he enjoys camping, fishing and playing guitar. Rushing and his wife, Dottie, have two sons and six grandchildren.
“David is an impressive and highly respected professional within the economic development industry, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team,” said John Osborne, president and CEO of LEDA. “His experience and shared vision for the future of Lubbock is what we believe makes him a great addition to our office. David brings a great track record of business development and we are excited for his future here.”
