Franchisees claim investments in Weslaco – GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY

WESLACO, TX. June 7, 2022 – The EDC of Weslaco announces the ground-breaking ceremony for the Shops at N Bridge, to be held June 9th at 4pm, on the corner of N. Bridge Ave. & Expressway 83, Weslaco. The development is a master planned ten+ acre retail center including four (4) restaurant pad users and over 40,000 sq. ft. of retail space in the heart of Weslaco’s highway frontage corridor.

The development is being constructed by San Antonio-based company, the Garansuay Group, who is aggressively lining up lease contracts; some of which include Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Juice Us, and Paris Bakery. More franchisees will be announced at the groundbreaking event. Garansuay representatives say that more than half of the available spaces have been taken and a limited few remain.

"The attraction for these national brands is Weslaco's explosive growth," Garansuay says, “and Shops at N Bridge is positioned to capture Weslaco’s heavily trafficked retail corridor.”

The event will feature comments from the Mayor of Weslaco, David Suarez, EDC Board President, Benita R. Valadez and State Representative Armando “Mando” Martinez as well as owners/franchisees who have selected Weslaco as their next expansion site. Many of the same franchisees will also provide food & drink samples for ceremony guests.

Recently, the City of Weslaco and the EDC reported five new commercial developments concurrently under construction. Among the five construction sites, the Shops at N Bridge will be completed first as construction for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

Parking, traffic, and ceremony accommodations will be provided by the Weslaco Police and Fire Departments. An extensive guest list has been compiled with hopes of welcoming retailers to one of Weslaco’s largest commercial developments in recent history.
