Bright Farms selects Lorena

Bright Farms, a giant indoor produce grower has broken ground to start a two phase project with a total value of over $365 million. The inital two greenhouses will have a value of over $182 million with 154 job at an average salary of $46,000. Jason Mundo of Mundo and Associates, Inc. initally submiited the site through the Texas Governor's Office of Economic Development. in October of 2020. This has been a great partnership of the City of Lorena, the Lorena EDC, Waco Chamber and McLennan County, said Jason Mundo. The Lorena TIRZ #1 assisted in building the sanitary sewer line for the area which was selected for the Bright Farms site. The Lorena TIRZ # 1 with its initial $6 million investment in a sewer line has now attracted some has now attracted some $750 million in new development.
