El Paso, TX – Flagstone Foods, a top manufacturer of private-label and company-owned nut, dried fruit, and snack brands, announced plans to significantly expand its production capability in the City of El Paso. The project includes approximately $28 million in capital investment and the creation of at least 91 new full-time jobs.

“El Paso has long been a manufacturing and logistics hub. We're thrilled Flagstone Foods chose to expand their business here,” said El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser. “This project brings good-paying jobs, aids our economy, and shows the region has the skilled workforce and business climate to attract industry leaders.”

Flagstone Foods has been in business for over a century. The company serves blue-chip customers, big-box retailers with private labels, and company-owned brands supplying high-quality nuts, dried fruit, and produce snacks. Flagstone announced a new phase of growth earlier this year with the acquisition of the “Emerald Nuts” snack brand from the Campbell Soup Company. Its investment of $28 million will include construction, infrastructure, and new equipment, such as four new manufacturing lines.

“These businesses recognize that in our County, they not only find a welcoming and diversified consumer base, but also an environment conducive to innovation and expansion,” said El Paso County Judge Ricardo A. Samaniego.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our business in El Paso and appreciate the strong support of the Borderplex Alliance and our local government officials,” said Harry Overly, CEO of Flagstone Foods. “This exciting project will bring new manufacturing equipment here, strengthening our ability to bring our ‘best in class’ healthy snacks to new customers nationwide. The community of El Paso is ideal for our expansion efforts due to its skilled workforce and business-friendly environment. We cannot wait to hire talented people from the area into newly created jobs while investing millions of dollars into our facility,” Overly added.

“We applaud Flagstone Foods for choosing Borderplex to expand operations and hire local talent,” said Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance. “This upgraded facility further highlights our region as a manufacturing epicenter, drawing in globally successful companies.”
