San Angelo Chamber Economic Development wins IEDC Gold Award

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS

Regional Workforce Development Innovation Program: The Economic Development Department of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce received the Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) making San Angelo number 1 in the world for workforce development for cities of population between 25,000 - 200,000. The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce EDD's team of Michael Looney and Mike Berry previously were honored in 2023 with the TEDC CEDA Gold Award for Workforce Excellence Award.

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is the largest membership organization for economic developers in the world. IEDC’s over 4,500 global members represent the entire field of economic development experience. Workforce development is a key objective for the San Angelo Chamber and the Economic Development Team was once again recognized for the excellent and innovative work they are doing to bring the graduates from all of our regional educational institutions into local employment in support of our growing economy.
