Megaacrete Chooses Kerrville, Texas, as Site for Innovative Autoclaved
Aerated Concrete (AAC) Production Plant, Marking a Collaboration of
Family Values
KERRVILLE, TX, February 19, 2024 – Megaacrete, the joint venture between the
Zambrano Gamez and Herb families, proudly announces the selection of Kerrville,
Texas, as the location for its upcoming AAC production plant. Nestled in the heart of
Texas Hill Country, Kerrville is the ideal backdrop for Megaacrete’s innovative endeavors,
marrying the city’s rich history with the forward-looking approach of this family-owned
partnership.
With a population of approximately 24,278, Kerrville, named after the Texas Revolution
major James Kerr, embodies the spirit of resilience and community. Strategically
positioned 65 miles northwest of San Antonio and 52 miles southeast of Junction,
Kerrville offers a picturesque setting with beautiful parks along the Guadalupe River,
youth summer camps, hunting ranches, and RV parks.
Mayor Judy Eychner expresses the city’s enthusiasm for Megaacrete’s choice, stating,
“We (the city) are just delighted that Megaacrete has chosen Kerrville as the site for
their new plant. They are a family-owned, family-run business that fits perfectly with
Kerrville and our values. We are looking forward to a long-lasting relationship that will
benefit both Megaacrete and Kerrville.”
Thomas Herb, co-owner of Megaacrete, adds, “It has been a pleasure working with the
city of Kerrville. Mayor Judy Eychner and her team, along with the Kerrville Economic
Development Corporation, has worked hard to put together a very attractive program,
and we truly appreciate their dedication. We look forward to being a good partner with
Kerrville as we grow and provide long-term value to the community.”
Bernardo Zambrano, co-owner of Megaacrete, confirmed, “From the beginning, the City
leadership and its entire team made us feel at home. The community shares our own
family values. Deciding to set up our operation in Kerrville was an easy choice. ”
Megaacrete’s decision to establish its first facility in Kerrville aligns with the city’s
commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage while embracing innovative ventures.
The Kerrville location, set to come online in late 2025, signifies Megaacrete’s
dedication to contributing to the building boom in Texas and the Southwest. The facility,
spanning approximately 120,000 square feet, with three autoclaves and initially
employing 40 team members, will serve as a hub for producing high-quality AAC thin
panels for cladding, flooring, and firewall applications.
The partnership between North America’s premier AAC producers, Aercon LLC, and
Litecrete SA de CV, establishes Megaacrete to set new standards in high-quality AAC
thin panels for various applications. Demand for AAC products has surged as the cost
of traditional building materials rises, and architects, builders, and owners seek
sustainable alternatives. The Kerrville location offers numerous benefits to Megaacrete,
including easy access to major transportation corridors, a strong and diverse economic
environment, and a population ready to fill the 40-plus positions needed to start
production.
The strategic collaboration with Aircrete Europe, a globally recognized AAC machinery
and technology supplier, emphasizes Megaacrete’s commitment to utilizing
cutting-edge technology for AAC production.
Corniels Tavenier, Commercial Director at Aircrete Europe, shares, “I am extremely
excited about this new initiative. MegAACrete is a strong brand combining extensive
knowledge and decades of experience from established local producers Litecrete
(Mexico) and AERCON (Florida, USA), together with the unique technology to produce
AAC panels from Aircrete Europe. MegAACrete, therefore provides a unique platform of
technology, production support, certification, and market development to accelerate
AAC in one of the biggest potential AAC markets in the world.”
As Megaacrete and Kerrville embark on this collaborative journey, the city anticipates a
relationship that not only furthers the growth of the AAC industry but also enhances the
community’s long-term prosperity.
