PFLUGERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Pflugerville, Texas (April 12, 2024) — Pflugerville Community Development Corporation

received notification that Executive Director Amy Madison is retiring this spring. With more

than a decade of service to PCDC and a total of 26 years in the field in both Texas and

Oklahoma, she plans to pursue other opportunities. The announcement came during a Special Called Board meeting on April 9.

“When I think about the orders of magnitude our city has grown in the past 10 years, Amy

Madison has always been front and center, leading us to prosperity,” said Jeff Thompson, PCDCPresident. “She was the driving force that generated thousands of new local jobs and attractedover one billion dollars in investment for Pflugerville. Her professionalism, foresight, andtenacity have profoundly impacted our community and region leaving a strong and vibrant foundation on which to build the next chapter of Pflugerville.”

An independent report in 2023 by Impact DataSource highlighted multiple economic

development initiatives Madison spearheaded over the last 5 years. Her collective efforts duringthe past decade led to the recruitment or expansion of 76 projects, 9.3 million square feet ofdevelopment, and the announcement of 7,076 new full-time jobs.

“It has been an honor to serve the PCDC and City Council as we worked together to achieve economic development goals,” said Amy Madison, PCDC Executive Director. “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served so many outstanding leaders in this community.

Noting her many contributions, the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce awarded her its

prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year. In retirement, she will continue to

serve as a board member for the International Economic Development Council and continue to support the profession through the Texas Economic Development Council.

She’s a leader recognized by her service on the TEDC Board for 8 years — and considered one of the best economic development professionals in the state,” said Carlton Schwab, TEDC President /CEO. “She brought her experience, expertise, and professionalism to Pflugerville at a time when the community was poised for economic growth, and she delivered.

Thompson noted that he will be working with the PCDC Board to create a seamless transition over the next few months to ensure the continued prosperity of Pflugerville’s economic landscape.

About the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation

The voters of the City of Pflugerville approved the formation of the Pflugerville Community

Development Corporation in 2001. The PCDC is a Type B corporation in the state of Texas and funded by a one-half-cent sales tax collection. The Pflugerville City Council appoints a sevenmember board to oversee policy, and the organization now employs six staff members to support programming and operations.

The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation is responsible for attracting, retaining, and expanding businesses to create new jobs and increase tax revenue to support economic development and community development in the City of Pflugerville. The PCDC funds may be used to provide incentives for existing and recruited companies, construct needed infrastructure such as roads, utilities, and drainage, as well as the development of parks and recreation projects.
