Cardinal Paint and Powder Expands Corporate Footprint in Decatur, Texas

Decatur, TX – April 30, 2025 – Cardinal Paint and Powder is deepening its commitment to the City of Decatur by announcing the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Eagles Landing Business Park. The news, shared at the Decatur City Council meeting on April 28, 2025, marks the next phase of the company’s growth strategy following the successful launch of its manufacturing facility in Decatur in 2021.

Chairman Steve Silverstein outlined immediate plans for the expansion at the Decatur Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) business park, Eagles Landing Business Park, near U.S. 81/287. The new building will include warehouse space and two-story executive offices to support corporate functions, enabling the original 62,180-square-foot plant to focus fully on manufacturing and lab operations. The expansion is expected to increase production capacity by 33% and push staffing levels beyond 100 full-time employees.

DEDC will support the project with a capital investment reimbursement spread over 4 years equal to 7% of qualified expenditures, with total reimbursements not to exceed $280,000. Executive Director Kevin Holzbog emphasized that Cardinal Paint exceeded expectations under its original performance agreement in 2021 and continues to demonstrate strong community engagement and economic impact.

“Relocating our headquarters to Decatur is a major milestone for Cardinal Paint,” said Silverstein. “We’re proud of the team we’ve built here—many of whom are local—and we see Decatur not just as a home base for our business, but as a long-term partner in our future growth.” With additional buildings planned for the site, the company is already looking beyond this project, reinforcing its long-term vision to anchor its national operations in Wise County.
