For Immediate Release- Socorro, TX - The City of Socorro is proud to announce a landmark $152 million investment by Wiwynn Corporation, a global leader in cloud infrastructure. The company will establish a new manufacturing and testing facility at the Socorro Logistics Center, creating 514 high-skill jobs and marking the city’s emergence as a major player in the tech industry.
This transformative development—the first of its kind in Socorro—was made possible through the City’s Choose Socorro initiative, led by the City Development Office. A targeted strategy of economic stimulus packages, proposals, and presentations to City Council, El Paso County, and the Borderplex Alliance helped attract and secure this international expansion.
Wiwynn is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and delivery of servers, storage systems, and networking equipment for data centers. This new facility, located at the Socorro Logistics Center in Socorro, Texas, will support the growing demand for advanced cloud infrastructure and play a key role in the company’s operations worldwide.
“This isn’t just a win for Socorro—it’s a statement to the world. Wiwynn’s decision to plant roots here proves that our city is no longer a hidden gem—we are a rising star in global tech. With this $152 million investment and 514 high- skilled jobs, we’re not just building a facility; we’re building futures, forging innovation, and putting Socorro on the map as the City with a Mission and a momentum that can’t be stopped.”
— Mayor Rudy Cruz Jr., City of Socorro, Texas
Wiwynn’s expansion is also a powerful endorsement of the region’s growing
reputation as a tech-forward, business-friendly destination.
“The workforce, business environment, and civic leadership have made the Borderplex region a natural choice for Wiwynn’s expansion. We look forward to our expansion and strengthening our ties in the region.”
— Joseph Hsu, General Manager, Wiwynn Corporation
