On Monday August 25th, we celebrated a major milestone for the Borderplex region with the groundbreaking ceremony of Vinton Steel’s $230 million expansion in Vinton, Texas.

This transformative project will generate nearly 200 high-paying jobs, strengthen our steel manufacturing sector, and further position the Borderplex as a hub for industrial growth.

We extend our sincere thanks to El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, Vinton Mayor Rachel Quintana, El Paso County Commissioner Precinct 4 Sergio Coronado, Larry McManus from the Office of Governor Greg Abbott, Consul General of Japan Zentaro Naganuma, Kyoei Steel Senior Advisor Yasuyuki Hirotomi, Kyoei Steel Chairman Hideichiro Takashima, and Vinton Steel Chairman Masahiro Kitada for their cooperation and commitment in bringing this project to life.

“The expansion of Vinton Steel is a strong testament to the Borderplex region’s competitiveness. This investment brings high-wage jobs and strengthens our role as a global manufacturing hub. We are grateful to our partners in government and industry for sharing our vision of sustainable growth and prosperity.” Said Jon Barela, CEO of the Borderplex Alliance.
