In February of 2026, the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) will bring cybersecurity professionals, industry partners and community leaders together for the TEEX Cyber Readiness Summit, a three-day event designed to strengthen the resilience of Texas communities and build a more prepared workforce. This year’s Summit will take place in College Station from February 3 to 5. It will feature national thought leaders, immersive learning opportunities and off-site experiences that highlight the capabilities available through TEEX.
he 2026 Summit will feature three keynote speakers with significant experience in national security, critical infrastructure and organizational resilience. Daniel “Rags” Ragsdale, Ph.D., founder of Full Spectrum Cyber Solutions and former senior leader with the U.S. Department of Defense, will open the event with insights into emerging technologies and cyber strategy. Dr. Cheryl Cooper, a U.S. Navy veteran and business information security officer with more than two decades of experience advising Fortune 100 companies, will share practical guidance on leadership and cyber resilience. James O’Brien, director of the Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection for the U.S. Department of State, will close the Summit with a forward-looking perspective on global cyber threats and international collaboration. These speakers will set the tone for three days of discussion, training and partnership building.
The Summit will explore key topics affecting organizations of all sizes, including threat trends, incident response, critical infrastructure protection, governance, compliance and cyber workforce development. Attendees will also be able to participate in off-site experiences that offer a behind-the-scenes look at how cybersecurity intersects with public safety, emergency response and essential community infrastructure.
By convening government agencies, educators, industry leaders and public safety professionals, the TEEX Cyber Readiness Summit empowers individuals, strengthens the local and state economy and builds a skilled Texas workforce. Cybersecurity affects every sector, and the Summit provides an opportunity for leaders to learn from one another and connect with statewide partners who are committed to building more resilient communities.
Registration for the 2026 TEEX Cyber Readiness Summit is now open at teex.org/cybersummit. All professionals who play a role in cybersecurity, technology, emergency management, or community protection are encouraged to attend and participate in this collaborative effort to strengthen readiness across Texas.
