The United Family breaks ground on new United Supermarkets in Wolfforth, Texas

WOLFFORTH, Texas — On Friday, representatives from The United Family joined city officials and other community representatives to break ground for a new United Supermarkets grocery store in the Wolfforth community. This will be The United Family's first full-size grocery store location in the market and is slated to open in 2027.

Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family, commented on the company’s opportunity to break ground on the long-anticipated location and the support of the Wolfforth community.

“We are thrilled to announce that Wolfforth will be home to our newest United Supermarkets location,” Hopper said. “It is always exciting to break ground on a new store, but this one is extra special because we know how excited this community is. We love Wolfforth and our team can’t wait to bring our signature service closer to all our guests in this community.”

Located in Northeast Wolfforth behind the existing United Express fuel station, the new United Supermarkets will feature services that have become mainstays of all next-generation United Family locations including a full-service pharmacy with drive-through; mobile grocery ordering, pickup and delivery; Ready Meals; fresh in-store bakery; full-service floral with delivery; and a full-service meat counter.

In addition, guests will find a Starbucks, Taphouse 16, extensive food service offerings as well as a large, covered patio and seated dining area. New to this location, guests will be able to rent a meeting and event space that can seat up to 50 people. The new United Supermarkets will also provide a significant boost to the local job market. The new store expects to add about 200 jobs to the Wolfforth community.

"The groundbreaking for the United Supermarket is a remarkable event for the City of Wolfforth,” said Mayor Charles Addington II, the City of Wolfforth. “It starts the final stage of a process that has taken years to complete. The United Family and the City of Wolfforth have worked closely together to develop something that will bring a positive impact to all families in the Wolfforth area. It is with great pride and gratitude that I say thank you to everyone involved and look forward to the day we actually open the store.”

"This groundbreaking represents so much more than a new grocery store. It marks a major quality-of-life milestone for Wolfforth,” said Danielle Sweat, executive economic development director for the Wolfforth EDC. “For the first time, our residents will be able to meet their everyday needs right here at home, without leaving the community. We are incredibly grateful to United Supermarkets for believing in Wolfforth and investing in our families. This project reflects years of collaboration and commitment, and we are proud to see it come to life.”
